How to Arrange Toolbar in Gimp for easy use like Photoshop I find it easy for me when I add all toolboxes like layers and Channels and tool options in one Toolbar itself. That way GIMP gets more compact and easy to use and I get to have more screen space too. To do this, simply drag the tool you want and put it in the toolbar which floats around in GIMP. Compact them and arrange them appropriately. For me the order is usually, tool Options, Layers, Brushes, Channels, Paths etc.
